Tail light not working on 2002 silverado

Tail light not working but brake does. Changed bulb
and no difference. I found a purple wire not
connected not sure what wire it goes to?

The purple wire is for the power to the tail lights. Where ever it is broke from, it should be in the area of the length of that wire. Just have to find the other end to it.
