Manual doors to power
I have a 2002 Silverado single cab with manual
everything locks windows side mirrors seats. I was
wondering if i can switch them to power. Locks
windows mirrors and seats If so what year and what
Your car won't have a wiring harness to support any of that. It would also be easier to swap the doors from a donor vehicle that had power locks/windows then to try and swap out internals, but that really depends on what you find. Best bet is to go with an aftermarket kit for locks (some include a keyless entry as well, google for power lock kits). Not sure about kits for power windows, as those require more parts. The factory setup would mean adding the BCM (body control module and programming), the window control module and programming, body wiring harness (which is a really big and expensive harness), a dash harness (another nightmare harness), and all the attendant controls, if you keep your existing doors then you'll have to add the regulators, motors, actuators and harnesses from donor vehicle, as well as the door panel and arm controls. It's a lot of work, but apparently people do this.
So what if i wanted to switch out everything from the donor car. As the doors with everything in them and the harnesses and would i need to switch out the fuse boxes or whould it better to just follow the wires and pull and switch what needs to ?
I can't suggest to you how to proceed, all I can say is your vehicle does not have a wire harness or computer modules to support power lock or power window management. That will involve the dash and body wiring harness, and the body harness is huge, from firewall to taillights. I do know GM uses a "power window control module" but whether this requires other modules to be programmed or not, I don't know. You might find it easier and cheaper to go with those aftermarket kits for adding power locks. In the past, I have added options to late model cars/trucks, like center consoles, and found out that wire harness are specific to the vehicle's they're installed on, made to order according to the build sheet - if an option was deleted, so to was any wiring harness to support it. They don't make one "universal" harness that can have features added on. So your body wire harness is not likely to have the wiring or connectors for power windows/locks, nor is it going to have the harness to support a new computer module, namely the power window module. (The fuse box however would probably be fine.) To replace that ENTIRE harness would require gutting the interior (been there, done that). It's actually not that bad, just wanted to let you know ahead of time what you might be in store for. You might find a forum online of Silverado owner's where someone has done this and may have a good how-to, check around. If you do go for it, take a lot of photos and post your own how-to!

The manual locks and windows can save you and your family's life if the vehicle looses power from water," submerged" flash flood, " elec. fire" or collision where battery and truck looses power Unlocking the power isn't as easy as u may think, MAKE sure if you do switch the lock knobs can be locked and unlocked manually. And the power window, I carry a emergency first res-ponder Knife it has a fireman paramedic symbol on it, on the end if the knife when closed you will see a small point about 1/4 " fixed to end of case, That to smash tour window when trapped. also it has a seat belt cutter and the knife point on the blade is to implode the air bag. I have carried one in all vehicles power or not for over 30 yrs. It saved my but in a elec fire. and I have used it about 12 times getting others out.... But the transfer, first of all your truck comes wired to the fuse box generally for these options, So its a matter of putting in the correct fuses and look in the manual it will tell you what number and fuse for that function. Now if there isn't any wires from the fuse box to the main connection at the end of the harness, Simple you need to get power to the fuses power again look at the manual, if you don't have one then buy a good one at auto parts store or order from internet, U will need it, add up all the fuses and get a total, "say you need 5 fuses, like 2 ea. 10's, 2 ea 20's, 1 , 0 amp that's 65 amps total, you can by pass the fuse box altogether and do inline fuses then run it straight to the switches, but make sure where ever you put the inline fuses you have easy future access.; Now the windows and door locks, I would go to a junk yard and take a battery or ask to use one, and take off door panel use a couple jumper wires with a alligator clip on end clip it on the window switch behind door and ground use the hot to battery and make sure they work right, same with locks, now tell the guys inside u just want the hardware for power window and locks not hinges, door or window. It should be much much cheaper, Then TAKE A PICTURE before you take it out>>>> go home swap it all out. This job Nit counting the junkyard you can do in about 2-3 hrs Tools needed Elec screwdriver with 4 way flat tips Elec wire strippers fuses, new wire correct gauge to handle load see manual I use the liquid black electrical tape its so much easier and more efficient when you connect elec wires, use the connectors that are open on each end and crimp down on wire. then take the liquid elec goo and push it inside connector after its crimped and around connection it wont pull loose or corrode or rust.... Good Luck Make sure you get the new door key you want the key lock where you turn key once to unlock that door and turn twice to unlock all doors,,, AND NO ENTRY PAD, I can bypass them in 10 seconds as can locksmiths and thieves....While you are at it you may want an alarm system save insurance... You might be able to strip a door for parts at a pull-a-part, but most scrap yards will only sell doors intact. A cannibalized door is worth nothing to them. All you can do is ask.
