What would be the replacement tires for Steel Belted Radial Tires P225/70R15
Same. Is there something wrong with that size? Or if you are asking Brand...that's personal choice
The size you posted is the current metric size. Originally your car probably had G78-15 (off the top of my head) bias ply tires. The new metric system sizing was introduced sometime in the '80s. P=Passenger Car, 225=Height, 70=Width, R=Steel Belted Radials, 15=Wheel Size. HTH. -Jim
Yep, my 1976 Ford F250 has 12/16.5. Interestingly, wheel are still measured in inches. 14,15,16 and 8, 9 or whatever wide
See online or ask Discount Tire Co. they are good with tire sizes or plus sides. I would upgrade to a 17" alloy custom wheel with 225-255X45R17 tires. Staggered 255 & 275X50XR17 Nitto's on my sport truck shown.
