no hood scoop

why doesn't my 2002 firebird trans am hatchback,  have no hood scoop,  5.7 auto.

not all came with hood scoop's,or your hood could have been changed out.

The only Firebirds with "hood scoops" are WS6's. They have the optional Ram Air/Handling package that includes the Ram Air hood, Bilstein shocks, and an SLP cat-back exhaust.

The info above is mostly correct. But no your car does not have the Ws.6 package. Contrary to popular belief ( This has been proven on the dyno time after time) a WS.6 is no faste than a normal Trans Am or Formula. They do however have, Bilstein or Decarbon shocks, adjusted spring rates, higher resale value, slightly tuned exhaust (highly meniscule), among a few im probably forgetting. he has the ls1 i see well not all trans ams came ram air (not all came with scoops) but you can easily go get one

The ram air has no effect on a dyno, but at speed they do give a small boost to hp.

WS6 car dont have bilstein shocks or slp cat-back. thats the firehawks. ws6's do have a diff muffler than a normal TA though
