The 6G72 Mitsubishi 3.0L engine is the only one that will go in both the Eclipse and Gallant and it fits the 1999 thru 2003 Gallant, and the 2000 to 2005 Eclipse, so it appears not. The 1998 Eclipse has a 2.0L turbo, not applicable to the 2002 Gallant

I have a 2.4 sohc in my 98 eclipse can I swap the motor from it to a Galant that has the 2.4 motor
