2014 Toyota Corolla vs 2014 Kia Rio hatchback

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Just looking for opinions as this is my first real car (that isn't a peice of junk
haha) and I don't know a lot about cars.
I will be commuting about 70km each way to and from work (especially in the
winter in Atlantic Canada)  so mpg and reliability is huge.
2014 Toyota Corolla has 57k kms, heated seats, remote start and winter
tires. Price is 14835
2014 Kia Rio Hatchback has 79k kms, push button start, heated
seats/steering wheel, backup camera but no winter tires (I'd have to buy
them as extra). Price is 15288
Definitely love the look of the Kia better as it looks a little more sporty but not
sure of their dependability as most people I've talked to have mixed reviews.
Both cars are for sale by local used car dealers with good reputations.
If anyone has any experience with either of these cars or just opinions in
general it would be appreciated!

Don’t even have to think about this comparison. Toyota Corolla. Reliability

Corolla with out hesitation would be my choice. They are legendary for their reliability and probably better built than the Kia. As always condition, how it was driven and maintained is all important.
