Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car had ran hot so to the point it looks
like my radiator cap seal is on radiator when
I took cap off. There was a part with a spring
in the neck of the radiator the last time I
checked an now its gone was that possibly
the thermostat or are there a part that is
housed in the neck?  Could my thermostat
broke an ended up in the neck below the
radiator cap

Not sure exactly what your talking about but the thermostat is at the engine follow the top radiator hose to engine for the thermostat housing. You may need a new radiator cap. If it has came apart would be a good idea to pull the radiator and fish out any loose parts.
