Chevy Impala Security System
I took my 2001 Chevy Impala to get the coolant system repaired. When the repairs were
done, my security system would not let the car start. I had it towed from the repair shop
to an alarm shop and they could not get it started either. The alarm shop said there may
be a problem with my computer. I don't understand. My car was starting fine until I took it
to the first shop. Now I'm being advised to go to a deal, which I can't afford. I would like to
at least have an idea what's wrong with my car and what to do as to not get taken again.
take the negative wire off the battery and leave it for a night or read the ownners manual and see if yo can reset it the web is telling me that you might have the wrong key
Will do. I have had the same key since I bought it from the dealer 10 yrs ago. Hey thanks for the quick response. Will keep you guys updated. Negative is red correct ?
no neg is black hear is a link for reseting key codes does the key turn to the on part of the ignition
Ok. Thank you. I will try it.
My security light keeps coming on and won't start, however when I use my remote start it will start. I don't know what's going on with it
Witb your security light on it thinks its a new key needs to be programmed
