What brand and weight of oil should
i use in my 92 chevy silverado 1500
truck

The weight of oil should be specified in your owners manual. Sometimes this is indicated on the oil filler cap. It will probably be one of the following; 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30 or 10W-40. The brand is not important. Make sure the oil is API certified!

If motor has over 200,000 miles some techs recommend heavier oil. And if weather is always hot where you drive often use heavier oil. Some say 20w50

I would use a 5w30 oil in any name brand as they are all API certified. Conventional (non-synthetic) oil is fine. Also use a name brand filter such as Wix, AC-Delco, Bosch, Mobil1, Purolator etc. I am not a fan of Fram filters.
