Do dealerships use pricing to bait and switch on CarGurus? I saw two listings this weekend that I liked, so I contacted them through CarGurus. I did not hear back from either, but both adjusted their pricing within hours of me sending the contact request.

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

The pricing changed on two vehicles that I sent a contact request to from
CarGurus.  One changed just about $1,000, but the other went from $35K to
$43K.  I feel like there is a bait and switch game going on, particularly with the
large price jump.  I have a record of my email, which shows the original prices
on both.

I wouldn't put it past some of the more unscrupulous types to use bait and switch tactics here, just like they do in real life. Only suggestion for you is to report them, try the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.
