I saw last night a car advertised on the site and requested to be contacted by the dealer. Once I spoke with the dealer they increased the price on me and would not even remove their docking fee. Their excuse; we under priced the car, is this an allowable practice? Can anything be done about this?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Good Afternoon:

I had an issue with one of your advertising dealers today. Last night I request
to be contacted by one of the dealers sales rep. Please see below
confirmation email from your website. Today I get contacted by one of the
reps and gave me a price of the car which was $698 dollars higher. Instead
of the price being $24,979 the price provided was $25,677. Their excuse
was that the fill that they had under price the car at market value. I agreed to
the $25,677 without any fees and requested payment estimate quote. In the
payment estimate quote they gave me an additional fee of $250 for docking
fee.  I requested that they deduct the $250 from the new $25,677 price and
they told me that they could not do anything about, and that if I changed my
mind to call them back.  This is unacceptable an unfair, the dealer
completely place a bait price on your website and would not even honor the
a small reduction of $250 dollars after that. I would appreciate it if you could
help me out with this situation, thank you. I've attached the quote they
provided.

How is it unfair? If you don't like the price, you find another deal. Cargurus can't help you negotiate. I'd read the terms of use found at the bottom of the webpage to see where Cargurus stands on things.

What are you blind? They advertise to fish in costumers and the jack the price up! How can you even ask if it is fair? Is called false advertisement.
