Wire in headlights

Asked by Cowboygunnz Oct 25, 2016 at 06:34 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed my dim light bulb on my '08 G6
and it kept going out. Thought it was the
bulb until I checked further and it's the
wires connecting to the bulb. What do I
need to do to fix the problem. Note that it
also smells like burnt wiring.

The bulb socket is probably melted and shorting out. Go to local auto parts and buy a bulb holder and splice it in place. Make sure you solder wires and use shrink tubing vs electrical tape to protect soldering joints.
