96 aerostar tranfer case problem

Asked by Justin3G Jun 21, 2016 at 11:31 PM

Question type: Car Customization

Can i disconnect the drive shaft from the transfer
case to the transmission and just have rwd in my
96 aerostar ? Or will sensors not allow it to drive?
Something is wrong with the transfer case , not
worth fixing. I did this to a 92 4×4 aerostar and it
worked , for some reason it's not working on my
96?

Remember just because the drive shaft is removed the transfer case is still being turned by the transmission. Depending on what is wrong with the transfer case, this may or may not work.
