Air bag light comes on and flashes. 1996 Chevy S10 LS SB, 6-cul straight drive. Never happened before. Sensor or short? Won't deploy I hope!

If there is a flashing, that's a good sign The number of flashing gives you a code where to solve the problem. 70% of chance you have a bad wiring connection. Have a look under the passenger seat and you will see some wires connection. Just push them back to sockets. Usually, it happens when some wires get old and it starts to have a poor electrical conduction. Try this method and let us know.
