Carfax reports costs $39 bucks each or you can get a 30 days version with unlimited reports for $54.99, there are no free versions out there. Be aware about the craigslist ads offering cheap reports, they are scams

There are other vendors out there that provide car history report at more affordable price. You can check out autoinsight.io or vinaudit.com. Both use official source like NMVTIS. autoinsight.io goes a step further and combine expert appraisal with data from edmunds.com. Useful if you are considering purchasing a used car.
