Have a 2001 bmw 316i and when I turn the key to start it, all I get is a repeating click noise. What could the problem be?

This is a sign of a weak battery or loose battery terminals or faulty starter. The clicking usually lets you know that current from the ignition switch is getting to the starter solonoid but something else might be wrong such as insufficient starting battery amps or starter fault.

Yeah sounds like the batt.... I've pulled a starter off a car. And it was only that batt... but have it all checked..
