Well Dennis, good question. Don't know which model you're after (sporty convertible or family sedan, or anything in between), but I'd recommend what is said with regards to resale value. Does it sell with 150,000 miles on it? Some cars degrade rapidy with added mileage. MINI is one of them. Toyotas always keep their value. Hondas sell well. This higher eschelon is way out of my league, but one thing stays the same and that is resale value- Beamers are excellent, nice thick sheetmetal, very sturdy. Mercedes pays special attention to build quality, hard to fit a quarter between body panels, Audi is an expensive creature with its all-aluminum design....bet the resale is excellent on that one too- your call, buddy.

Yes! Without more info on the models you are trying to compare its hard to give you feedback.

Your question is very vague, so if you can tell us which specific models you're looking at, we may be of more help to you. But all 3 are German cars and each will be expensive to maintain and repair, compared to your Mustang. You'll need to keep a nest egg for..."What if _____ breaks down or needs to be replaced" for any of these cars. Check out this Forbes article..it really puts it into perspective: http://www.forbes.com/2008/05/05/cars-expensive-repairs- forbeslife-cx_jm_0505cars.html
