What is the point of someone being interested in my car?

I have had over 10 people interested in my cars yet none
of them follow up after I respond to what looks like their
automatic message of "So & So has indicated interest in
your car" What is the point of this!? Are you guys
generating your own responses for better statistics?

Everyone complains about this. I think this is simply flakes, not funny business.
