What were the fuse sizes you used in this process? Also is the shifter stuck in park or is it in gear? I believe you should be able to shift it regardless of having power.

I was using 7.5 & 10 low profile fuses but i accidentally put in a regular 10 fuse. Gear shifter is locked in park

From my understanding it can be anything in the circuit that causes this. If you need to move the vehicle there is an override to put it in neutral manually. Try checking any fuses for brake lights, tail lights, and dash lights. Also I would check the brake light switch. You can search a wiring diagram for the make/model and that can help to determine where the issue is in the circuit. In terms of using a regular 10 instead of a low profile 10 that shouldn't have caused this issue as they perform the same mechanical purpose. Also note to check both fuse panels. Hope this helps, electrical issues can be a time just have patience with yourself and double-check everything.
