1995 volvo 850 won't start. No power reaching starter

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 volvo 850 that has sat all winter, I would start it about once a month and let in run for about ten to fifteen minutes and then spring it refuses to start, I turn the key and nothing happens. No click, no engagement of the starter whatsoever.  I put key in run position and used a remote start push button connected to solenoid, starter motor spins but does not engage engine. I can't see anything going bad that quickly, thinking may rodent or wildlife chewed through a wire but can't find which one. Most wire are inside casing or sheathing all exposed show no sign or damage.

Problem solved. Alarm system had disabled ignition because battery had died. Finally remembered how to disable alarm by locking and unlocking driver side door several times.
