You talking about number 4 spark plug wire? Will it do the same thing if you pull one of the others? In the past, pre-computer years, One tech tip, if battery is a little down, plug a spark plug. It's not fighting compression on that cylinder and that cylinder uses no spark voltage. I tried it one time, it worked. Of course that was about 50 years ago. I can't say if that relates to your issue?

I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer, 4x4, 4.3 vortec. We have changed the coil pack, fuel filter, distributor cap and button, the crank shaft sensor, cam sensor and plug wires as well as the ignition control module. We coming to a stop sign it will stall and sometimes when just sitting still. Sometimes it will start right back up and other times it takes several tries. I also have the oxygen sensor on order and it should be here tomorrow. Fuel pressure tested perfectly. No black smoke, no smell of rotten eggs or the cat glowing red. Hey Gurus, I need your help. My 95 blazer cranks but doesn't start unless I spray carb cleaner into it then it will start and run fine all day. If i remove a spark plug wire it will start .but when i put the wire back on it shuts off and will not start unless i take the boot back off 1 Answer
