Can the VIN number of a brand new car appear as used?

Hello, I recently bought a brand new vehicle from hyundai,
when I got the insurance I was told that the VIN number is
that of a used car. I asked the dealer and they stated
they'd be in contact with the insurance,  the insurance said
the dealer did not and still has the car registered as used

How many miles were on the vehicle when you purchased it? Generally speaking if a vehicle has 1,000 or more miles on it when you buy it the vehicle is considered used. Even if it is the current model year. Hope that helps! Jim

If this dealer is selling a used car as new your DA may be interested. I might run a CarFax to find out what is going on.
