Washer fluid not spraying out

Asked by Sep 26, 2016 at 10:31 AM about the Dodge Ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2015 Ram 1500:  Windshield washer tank is full and I can hear the pump
motor when pushing the button (wipers moving as well); but, no washer fluid
sprays out.  Also, the windshield solvent light stays on thinking the tank is
empty when it's actually full.  Is it a sensor, pump, blockage?  Please help

Thanks

No way to know without checking. Since the level sensor is on and the tank is full, I'm guessing the sensor just might be dirty, which might be the case with the pump filter/strainer. The pump goes on, but nothing comes out. Time to siphon the fluid out and check the condition of the level sensor and the pump filter/strainer and pump itself for debris. Then check the hoses for blockages.

I'd check for blockage and make sure the tube/hose from the pump or reservoir is connected and intact, check the pump isn't sucking air from the reservoir instead of fluid.
