oil pressure spinkg?

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with a 6.o Litre engine, suddenly my oil pressure gauge is going past the highest nember, and my check engine light came on, the truck has oil does anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like your oil pressure sending unit or gauge is going bad, take it to your mechanic or dealer and get it fixed soon! P.s. when something goes wrong with system, it will set a code and turn engine light on.

Thanks, Yes the engine light did come on, even though it has plaenty of oil, must be the sending sensor!
