Loss of Brake Pressure

Asked by Braden Sep 27, 2010 at 08:17 PM about the Lincoln Mark VIII

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lost brake pressure several months ago, but I can still use my brakes. My brakes won't engage until the end of the travel, and even then only the front passenger side appears to work. If I slam the brakes, only the front passenger tire will lock up. As far as I can tell, I'm not losing any fluid. Also, this originally happened when I was just driving down the road, and just touched my brakes. They can be momentarily pumped up, but even then, it's no where near good brake pressure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

have you checked the master cylinder? its the thing under the hood that you fill with brake fluid. it should be full and have no leaks.
