i have an 2000 volvo s80 im in doubt mechanic says its the transmission but i got a feeling is not .. . when the oil is cold the car doesnt move at all but when i leave it running for a while it does

Same as when you have a question about a medical issue. Get a second opinion. The transmission fluid does warm up via the lines to and from the radiator. --- It could also be a a result of low voltage. Check the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be around 14-14.5 volts.
