2003 jeep cherokee for $700, with 200,000 miles . I
know the owner and they said it hasn't had any
problems, yet, and he takes it to our work everyday.

All you are risking is $700. If you drive it for a couple of months you got your moneys worth.

you can't really lose at 700. If the body is nice and rust free and you want to keep it, start looking for a good used motor or source a reman motor in the eventuality the Jeep's motor dies.
