4 wheel drive light flashing

the light is flashing when in 2 wheel drive and when I go into top gear and then slow down to a stop the ABS light comes on. I've heard its a faulty relay switch that needs to be replaced. It engages 4 wheel drive fine. Where is this switch located???

have you tried running the car in reverse. sometimes this will take the 4 wheel drive light off.
I'm having the same problem. Have you ever found a fix?
the switch that engages your four wheel drive is faulty. It is a cheap fix you can get a new one from Mitsubishi for about $40 it is located passenger side of the front axle

o just because it's four years old doesn't mean that it didn't need an answer! Are you trying to tell me that people with Montero's areN going to have this problem in the present or future?

I have a 1999 montero and my 4x4 light is on can I drive on that tell I get payed I just got the SUV bc I have 2002 and I was on 695 south it stop working some so I got the 1999 and only thing is wrong the window and the brakes need bleed an the 4x4 light is on plazz help me I have 3kids 2in school and one with special needs child so I have appt to take him to

Yes thank you just got a 99 sport and that green lite is flashing and anti break lite as we'll gonna get that part. Hope it takes the nouse out
What is the part called and where is it located?
Just had the trans box ( I think that is what it is called...where the shifter puts it inot 4 wheel drive) rebuilt and picking it up... Is the light come on when in 4 wheel drive and is it located in the dash? Is there a different light for 4 wd low vs. 4 wd high? Thank you in advace. Chet
