Head gasket

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am wondering if Subaru has done anything to make it so the head gaskets
don't fail on their cars? At least with the Forester, not sure about the outback,
The head gasket would notoriously fail at about 70,000 miles. Is this
something that Subaru acknowledges and has fixed in newer models?

The new Foresters don't have head gasket problems, they have oil consumption problems and the CVT's can fail.

Generally, 2010 and later vehicles didn't have head gasket issues... redesigned in 2010.. Anything can fail... recently met someone who has over 200,000 miles on their 2010 Subaru Outback Limited. Just did regular maintenance.. brakes, tires, oil changes and timing belt.... original CVT transmission..... My car has 87,000 miles...no issues.. Just don't drive like you're at the racetrack and it should be fine...lot of people like to race their Subaru, I don't advise that. Drive normally...car will last for a long time....
