Your engine code is the fifth character but I don't have a "D" listing in my 1961 thru '68 labor guide. The only "D" I show is a V8 289 with transistorized ignition for a 1964 Mercury Comet. BTW the first character is your model year. Since the Mustang was a mid-year introduction your VIN identifies the car as a 1965 model. HTH. -Jim
