Ford bantam electrical troubleshoot

Before a fire hazard accrued l was
driving around and my hazards
starting to indicate and would not go
off ,my gages stop working my
bakkie was doing its own thing and
burst into flames !!! I saved most of
the pickup to find that there are a
electrical cable that’s splits to
different apartments there is a white
plastic cable insert that joins the
cable that goes into the bakkie ,can l
repair just that part of cable and by
pass that insert that burnt it’s like
30cm hat burnt and the bottle so can
l rewire those cables without the
cable connector

The wiring harnesses are what you call, "Modular". They come in sections. I would hunt arround scrap yards for the sections you need. You could remove that particular section and repair it so long as you use that particular diameter wiring. It sounds like there was a short circuit in that section. There should have been a fuse or fusable link to protect that system.
