2012 528i Steerin Wheel Lock

Asked by May 06, 2012 at 04:03 AM about the BMW 5 Series

Question type: General

How can I lock the steering wheel of my 2012 BMW 528i, i just bought it yesterday and I'm getting use to it, my previous cars I just had to twist the steering wheel after the car was turn off and was really easy to lock it, I been trying to do the same with my bimmer but I can keep doing 2,3 or more twists and the lock doesn't click, am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my vehicle?...thanks in advance for your help.

due to the elec shifter unit and the immobilizer set up on these cars they dont make the steering lock like old cars. and after the issues with the E8x/E9x cars with the ELV, probably a good thing. F01, F07 F25 and even the E70 x5 have had this system
