You can't. You'll have to replace it. Make sure you look at the fuel lines as well. Replace as needed. Rust will clog your fuel filter. It's just the age of the car.

Car's almost 30 years old. Try finding and replacing the fuel filter, Have some spares when the keep getting clogged with rust?
