2001 Cavalier not starting

Asked by Baconlover540 Apr 10, 2019 at 11:06 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm buying this car off my friend and her dad has already replaced the cam
sensor, crank sensor, ignition module, and coil packs (which I do not know
anything about the internal components of cars) and her dad also said they
scanned it. The car kept cutting off I think and they think it may be a computer
problem. I talked to my Engineering teacher and he said I may be able to just
update the computer which I was wondering if that may work or not, or if I'd
have to do something else.

If it's failed connection on having the car scanned, check all your relays and if they're all good, there's no updating the ECM, you'll have to replace it. You can get a new one and you'll be all set for a long while or a used one and have it flashed for a cheaper price but there's no telling how long it will last.
