My 2007 Nissan Murano stays on drive on the dashboard even when gear lever is changed and it won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car gear lever has not locked and when moved to P, N or R it shows drive
on the dashboard and it fails to start engine. Please advise.

Nissan Shift interlock system. Listen for the click when pressing the brake pedal.Check for burnt out bulbs too. Should be stuck in park but can be pulled If forced to much! TRY THIS.... Shift to N Set parking brake Foot off brake pedal (now car is resting on parking brake only) Shift to P Turn off car
