Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi. I have a 1978 Pontiac Sunbird 2.5L 4 Cyl
engine that came originally with no
temperature gauge in the dashboard. How do
I tell if the engine overheats?

You probably have a "TEMP" light that will come on if the engine hits the high point of its temp range. It should illuminate when you start the car as a test to show you it is working. Not sure what yours looks like it may be just a red lens or an indicator that looks like a thermometer.
