Electrical issues after having new transmission installed

Asked by GuruDWCZK Aug 14, 2017 at 04:49 PM about the 1994 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Picked up truck from transmission shop, owner told me my ignition started acting up while they were working on it. So, when I got the truck back, they had me hot wiring it to start it, the windows don't roll down, the a/c doesn't work, the turn signals don't work, the radio doesn't work and the airbag light is on. Also, in order to shift it into gear, I have to drop (lower) my steering wheel. I think I was lied to..... Can anyone tell me what to do?

Completely agree with tom. You take your truck back to.them. Dont wait another minute. The longer you have it the more they can say it wasn't doing that when it left here. If its a major repair shop contact corporate office. Take it back and tell them you want it working right. They should have contacted you when it started having trouble. Besides that just replacing tranny doesn't mean they had to constantly turn truck on and off. Its clear they did other things to it. BUT if its the ignition the problems your having will be because of ignition failure. Electrical connections are not being made that need to be made. Take the truck to AutoZone or Napa. They can put it on a scanner and read codes. There will be codes if ignition is going bad. Just take it back and leave it there. They will fix it if they did it. Last thing they want is bad reputation that will cost them potentially more work, no work no money coming in.
