2000 buick lasbre high beam switch wont engaga clicks but wont engage

the high beam will not engage

The only thing I can think of is, maybe you're pulling the lever toward you instead of pushing it toward the engine. PULLING it will get momentary brights, and pushing it will lock on the brights.
