Getting hot and losing acceleration

You need to start with the basics........you did not say what you have done...if anything * Check that you have coolant * Check for a stuck thermostat after that it could be * a bad water pump if you change the water pump * have the block and radiator flushed.....which you might want to try BEFORE the water pump.
