does anyone have a fe 360 ford for my 75 F250 4x4 ? long or short block and what can I expect to pay?
Have a 1975 f250 Ranger XLT 4x4 with the fe360 block. mine lost a piston ring and started pumping oil out of the dip stick and valve cover filler and breather holes! need this running bad!
Your best bet for that year engine would be to Google a non winter state salvage yard that is closest to you. For example, if you type in Arizona salvage yards, a long list will come up. You can either call or email them. They will tell you if they have one available and how much it will cost to ship.
Reelin68 has a good answer. I have a '76 w/390, same block, there are a ton of them used or short-block or long-block rebuilt
Or you can hit up Ebay and buy an entire rebuild kit for around $350. Then you will have to decide if it's cheaper to have it rebuilt or get the salvage yard engine.
http://remanufactured.com/Ford_8_Cylinder_Engines.htm //about $2,000 plus core, $500. You get the $500 back after you return core at your expense shipping
And they are EASY to work on, no ECU, no modern electronic crap, and mine has no mechanical breaker points. Might even think about an Edelbrock intake and a 600cfm Holley 4 bbl carb As of this year even in Calif they don't have to be smogged . Under $100 shipping
