I have a 1966 impala hardtop 2 door. Non SS car. I recently noticed the frame is fully boxed. Was this the standard for these cars or did some have the C channel frame?

I owned a '66 Impala 2 door sport coupe with the swept back roof line which had a fully boxed frame. I know because just behind the front wheels, at the bottom they were known to rust out. Often in less than 10 years because of condensation build up from the exhaust manifold constant heating/cooling. This happened to mine in 1974! So I took it to high school and reinforced the area with a weld over box. Then drove it to California and back without missing a beat! Ahhh the memories!!
