I have a 1966 impala hardtop 2 door. Non SS car. I recently noticed the frame is fully boxed. Was this the standard for these cars or did some have the C channel frame?
I have asked a few people and some say that the only impalas that came with a fully boxed frame were convertibles and some SS models. Mine is neither. I have checked the vin number and it says the car is and original 327 2 speed power glide car. Not sure if this is standard on impalas. I would appreciate any help........Thanks, Larry
Hi Larry ... I really was disappointed to fail to find any info about the frame of that vintage Impala (a beauty). The best I could come up with was to find the most active Impala forum I could find and direct you there to try your question: http://www.chevroletforum.com/ ... Good luck. Hope this helps some !
Many of the cars built in Canada were built with these heavy duty or "boxed" frames... These cars are the favorites of low rider enthusiast ..
