Does anyone know how many 1965 Impala super sports were made with a six cylinder 3 speed on the tree? Vin shows its a correct ss with L6 (six cylinder) 3 speed super sport. Now what is the guestimate or known actually made please help
Here is a chart breaking down the Impala production by engine: http://www.348-409.com/production.html Now, the only place that might have more detailed information would be the "Standard Catalog of American Cars" of which my copy has been misplaced. I don't know that anyone will have exact information on how many were made with 3 on the tree as they will probably be broken down to automatic vs. manual transmissions and not any lower than that. Good luck.
thank you very much i was told its a rearity not too many before i bought it i checked vin numbers and they came up as L6 six cyl chevy dealers here in az say its rare just needing to find out thanks again
If I can remember that far back, there were stripped "business" models sold with 6 cylinders and three on the tree that looked like a SS without the badging and other fluff. The SS only came with an automatic, or 4 on the floor. You could get split bench seats, but had to order them. Great on dates, girls sits next to you in a skirt, shift into second gear and your hand hits the seat. You figure the rest.
