Thanks bwright,I have had opinions around here -blown head gasket, cracked head, cracked block,or timing chain has got to much slack in it that it has rubbed a hole in the back of the timing cover. I told this fellow what it was doing and he didn't hesitate a second to think about it. He works on toyotas only for 28 years.Problem is you have to take the engine out to put a new cover on it. I am disabled,3 surgery on my back, can't work on them anymore. either way i go it is going to be expensive. THANKS, ROBERT

Timing chain has rubbed a hole nin the timing chain cover. I had same problem about a year ago on a 1990 Toyota pickup 22r.
