1991 LC with 260K mi. Trans is not shifting properly, esp, if I accelerate into passing gear...sticks there...help?

ok most likly two things wrong, shifter is worn out where it sits in trans and selects gears or a gear selector sleeve is worn and sticking try and remove shifter and trans cover through floor of truck and see if you can select different gears pushing with a screwdriver should slide into gears fairly easily once you overcome the check ball and spring detent
