i was driving to pick my kids up and when i hit the gas i felt it jump then stall i
parked it and noticed it wouldnt move in drive but when i throw it in to 1st and
2nd it goes forward and it reverses when i put it in reverse. any ideas on what
this could be and should i  just rebuild whats the cost usualy.. thank you

Could be as simple as low trans fluid level. Have that checked first and then move into the repair mode. Like most of us, trans work is better left to people who know what they are doing and it will cost $100 or more. They can give you an estimate and then you can decide what you want to do. Drive it slowly to the shop of your choice.
