Kelly, just got my timing belt, water pump thermostat, all fresh super coolant, serpentine belt, all new tensioners.. And all genuine Subaru parts... very important and CHEAP insurance.. don't skip this.... there's a 500,000 miles Subaru club ...I know someone who went 300,000 miles easily... ..a complete job for $1,235... good for another 9 years... it's a matter of time or mileage... some people say that you can just "inspect the belt"..do you really want to take the risk.? By the way, the water pump bearings showed signs

By the way, the water pump bearings showed signs of wear... my personal mechanic.. told me that any failure even the water pump could seize and cause a timing belt to jump and cause engine damage... I know that a few hecklers who love to needle me will say I'm being overly cautious.. but, skimping on service is the most expensive thing to do with any car... And, I've had most

Sorry, got cut off mid sentence. I've had most of my cars for 15 to 20 years.. no car payments for 10 to 15 years pays for a lot of service..

One more thing...in the FOUR years I've owned my Subaru... this is the first signficant service... over $1,000.... Overall, I'm very pleased with the car.... and it drives great...
