Will switching my 2003 Pontiac Sunfire from a 2 muffler set up to a 1 muffler system effect exaust flow from engine.  Most sunfires have just one muffler with the same 2.2L OHC motor in it

The car will run tolerably okay but there's a reason it comes with 2 mufflers. A single muffler will create more backpressure unless it's oversized, and there isn't room to do that under the car. That said, if the added noise and slightly reduced performance doesn't bother you, it will work.
