'03 Grand AM, having electrical issues. Wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Asked by Rafael_Donatello Jun 20, 2016 at 09:51 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We drove all day with no issues.  We shut it down for a few minutes and
went back out to start it and when we turned the key everything went dark
(all dash lights, all power).  When the key is in the "on" position, everything
is lit up, all dash lights, windows work, radio works.  When you turn the key
over, there is no sound, no clicks, no whines, there's nothing.  Anyone have
any ideas as to what could be going on?

If anyone has this issue pop up in the future, it was a security lock out. Not sure how it kicked in, but the fix was to leave the key in the "on" position for 10 minutes, turn it off, then start it up. Started right up after that...
