Oil Leak

I am having a few drops of oil on the driveway each day. Took it to the mechanic and was told I
need to replace the head gasket (not valve). Does that make sense?

I would try the valve cover gasket and see if that does it. It would be easy to mistake a leaking valve cover gasket for a leaking head gasket. If you can do it yourself it is only a few bucks compare to a grand or so for the head gasket done by a mechanic.
