Check your fluid level first, is the fluid low or have a burnt smell to it? If it is low refill to full mark and recheck shifting, if i is burnt, well you can try to service it but it maybe too late, the tranny has already suffered damage. If none of the above apply, then check the shift selector switch for out of adjustment or just a bad switch.
